We live in a world of words. This has never been more true than today, when we are immersed in social media, ads, news, hashtags, and the sometimes pressive imperative to tell our stories. But why do we sometimes feel that words have almost lost their meaning? How do we reconnect with the essential beauty of language? In the spring, this circle will meet to explore and discuss language as a means of creative expression. We will read texts from a variety of sources and genres. We will explore the nature of metaphors. We will do short writing exercises to stimulate the metaphoric (and therefore linguistic and literary) imagination. We will watch videos and other material related to our topics of interest. We will have fun with words. The texts and the conversation will be held in English, and no prior knowledge or experience is required. Varmt välkommen!
