School of Emergencies: Öppet hus
 
School of Emergencies bjuder in till öppet hus! Mellan 18.00-22.00 så blir det samtal, interventioner, läsningar, mikroutställningar och gemensam middag med skolans deltagare. Under kvällen blir det dessutom läsningar av poeten Marie Silkeberg och en mikroföreläsning med författaren och kritikern Stefan Jonsson.
 
School of Emergencies startades sommaren 2022 av Hägerstensåsens medborgarhus och det exil(ryska)konstkollektivet Chto Delat. Som ett svar på den ökade repressionen i Ryssland har skolan samlat konstnärer, poeter, forskare och aktivister verksamma i Sverige och som befinner sig på flykt från Ryssland. Genom flera moduler 2022 och 2023 har deltagarna tillsammans med mentorer och inbjudna gästlärare tagit sig an krisen i ett bredare sammanhang av ökad nationalism och populism, åtstramningspolitik och klimatkris.
 
För att uppmärksamma att skolan nu avslutas bjuder vi in till ett öppet hus för att dela erfarenheter och kunskaper från året. Vi hoppas att ni vill dela kvällen med oss!

School of Emergencies: Open House
 
School of Emergencies invites you to an open house! Between 18.00-22.00 there will be talks, interventions, readings, micro-exhibitions and a joint dinner with the participants of the school. During the evening there will also be reading by poet Marie Silkeberg and a lecture by the critic and writer Stefan Jonsson.
 
School of Emergencies was started in the summer of 2022 by Hägerstensåsen’s medborgarhus and Chto Delat. As a response to the increased repression in Russia, the interdisciplinary school has gathered artists, poets, researchers and activists from Sweden and Russia, who now reorganize their life and work in exile. Through several modules in 2022 and 2023, the participants, together with mentors and invited guest teachers, have tackled the crisis in a broader context of increased nationalism and populism, austerity policies and the climate crisis.
 
To mark the end of school, we invite you to an open house to share experiences and knowledge from the year. We hope you want to share the evening with us!

Hägerstensåsens medborgarhus
Hägerstensåsen’s medborgarhus was established after the residents of Hägerstensåsen in 1948 formed a joint association to work together for a community center to be built in the neighborhood. The house was finished in 1957 and is today – 65 years later – one of Stockholm’s largest meeting places that is still owned collectively.
 
It houses local radio, chess clubs and pensioners’ associations together with literature talks, artistic research and dance courses for both newborns and pensioners. The ambition is to create an ecosystem of social, artistic and pedagogical practices that enable conversations, reflection and a democratization of the local area and the society at large.
 
Chto Delat
For nearly 20 years, the Russian collective Chto Delat has been one of the most important critical and poetic voices in Russian contemporary art. Tirelessly, they have scrutinized power and through different mediums commented on an increasingly undemocratic and repressive Russian power in broader context of deteriorating international politics.
 
They actively participate in building alternative structures of civic society such as School of Engaged Art and Rosa House of Culture. At the moment due to direct police violence this institutions stop operating inside Saint Petersburg and reorganize itself in exile.
